Deep in the jungle…
Deep, deep in the heart of the jungle, in the humid rainforest of Brazil, is a region called Piedade. The native people in this region lived an almost disease free life and many lived to well over 100 years of age. They were hardly ever bothered by cancer, diabetes, hepatitis, high blood pressure, heart disease, arthritis or Alzheimer’s like so many people are today.
As will happen, civilization slowly came into the area. A group of Japanese farmers, who settled in the region, noticed that the people in Piedade were extremely healthy and lived to a ripe old age.
